The Community STEM digital badge ecosystem (CSTEMBE) will continue the Hive-supported work of the C-STEMM digital badge working group, which developed and pilot tested a STEM digital badge ecosystem to recognize youth and communicate out-of-school learning across institutions. Activities will develop the badging ecosystem, expand the scope nationally, and address the critical challenges of equity/access, how badges are valued and integrated across institutions, and the creation of a seamless badging technology that supports student learning.
Chicago Botanic Garden and Project Exploration will co-lead CSTEMBE. Hive Chicago funded collaborators include: ForAllRubrics as technical lead. Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, The Adler Planetarium, After School Matters, Anti-Cruelty Society, Project SYNCERE and Youtopia. National Hive partners include: American Museum of Natural History, California Academy of Sciences, and Iridescent. Unfunded partners include Chicago Architecture Foundation and Shedd Aquarium.
